Black is Beauty: The Martin D-35 Johnny Cash

The sound of the original. There are countless acoustic guitars, but only a few sound as good as a Martin. The D-35 Johnny Cash is dedicated to the icon Johnny Cash, who died on 12.09.2003. In 1997 Martin produced 80 black D-42JC signature model guitars and Johnny Cash's preferred guitar was a modified D-35 custom, the first Martin guitar with a polished black finish.

Johnny played this one on stage for almost 20 years. With the replica of this Johnny Cash, Martin now reminds us of this legend.

Outstanding sound, high playing comfort: The Martin D-35 Johnny Cash

In a classic manner, the solid Martin D-35 Johnny Cash comes with a solid Engelmann spruce top on an East Indian rosewood body. Accordingly, this dreadnought resonates with powerful and warm bass, vocal and contoured mids, as well as clear and brilliant highs. With its balanced sound, the D-35 Johnny Cash is ideal for powerful vocal accompaniment, opening up a wide vocal spectrum for the strummer or flat picker. The flat neck profile lies comfortably in the hand and provides a pleasant and soft playing feeling;

The star inlays, the Johnny Cash signature on the fingerboard and the Abalone Multi Stripe rosette underline the uniqueness of this dreadnought.
