A great classic revisited in a short scale version
With its offset double-notch silhouette and its J-type two-pickup configuration, the JB100 3/4 is part of the great "jazz" bass tradition: ergonomics designed for high-frequency access and an immediately recognizable style. Here, Eko takes these codes in a more compact version, focused on ease of play, while keeping the essential: a simple, robust and reassuring 4-string bass to start.
For whom, and for which styles?
The Eko JB100 3/4 is aimed primarily at beginners and anyone looking for a more manageable bass: children, small sizes, or guitarists wishing to expand their palette without struggling with the neck length of a standard bass. Thanks to its versatility, it is very well suited to styles that require a precise and articulated sound: pop, rock, funk, reggae, jazz, and learning in groups or music school.
The tone
Passive electronic sound with two simple J-type microphones offers a classic and effective palette: a central microphone for round and heat, a bridge microphone for more attack, mids and definition. The 2 volumes allow you to dose each microphone, while the tone refines the brilliance to go from a snapping and nervous sound to a softer timbre. The poplar body provides balance and lightness, the maple neck enhances precision, and the laurel fingerboard adds a touch of warmth. The easel with 4 adjustable bridges helps to optimize action, intonation and sustain for a pleasant and stable bass on a daily basis.
Compatible accessories recommended
For a good start, you can associate it with a strap (standard), a jack cable 6.35 mm (instrument), a tuner and a stand for bass. For replacement, choose a set of 4-string bass strings with a tension close to the original (45-105) in order to maintain the feel and balance of the game.
