Eko PB 300 Sunburst

Product details

A bass inspired by a design that has become a reference since the 1950s
The Eko PB300 is in line with the bass "type PB" whose silhouette and configuration have marked generations of bassists since the 1950s. Eko takes this iconic recipe (double notch, micro splitcoil, 4 bridges) to offer an accessible electric bass, ergonomic and designed to accompany the first steps without sacrificing the essential: playability, versatility and efficiency in a group.
For whom, and in which styles?
Designed for beginner bassists (and guitarists who want to add a reliable bass to their arsenal), the PB300 is comfortable in most contexts: pop, rock, funk, punk, variety, blues and even more muscular music with a saturation pedal. Its tone control makes the setting very intuitive: more open for a sharp and defined playing, more closed for a round and old school sound.
The tone
The pair of poplar bodies and maple necks aim for an effective balance: a candid attack, good legibility, and a steady response, while the laurel fingerboard provides a slight warmth that softens the more crackling character of the maple tree. The single PB splitcoil type microphone, in passive electronics, delivers a solid bass and a present midrange, perfect for "holding the piece" in a mix. The 4-saddle Eko bridge/tailpiece allows you to adjust each string with precision (action and accuracy), while promoting a clean and homogeneous sustain.
