Product Description

Prestige is Ibanez’s top production guitar line. These class-leading instruments are crafted in Japan using only the best luthiers, tonewoods and hardware, giving players the ultimate playing experience. The Prestige range of guitars and basses are used the world over by some of the most acclaimed names in the business.

The Ibanez SR5005 Prestige is a high performance 5 string bass with a number of premium features. An Atlas 5pc Wenge/Walnut neck and Wenge fretboard provide clarity in the mid range and exceptional comfort and the MR5S bridge allows for adjustments to be made to the string spacing...A bassist's dream! There is a plethora of tones on tap thanks to the Bartolini® Custom pickups and Custom Electronics 3-band EQ w/EQ bypass switch & Mid frequency switch. Whether you want a huge, fat sound with plenty of low end thump or a tighter, snappier sound with more treble and mid range, the SR5000 has you covered.

Bartolini® Custom Pickups

The American made passive Bartolini® Custom pickups are arched to match the radius of the SR5000's fretboard (305mm). This ensures that each string is positioned equally distant from the pickup which in turn guarantees a balanced volume across each string.

Wenge Fretboard

Although not as common as Rosewood or Maple as a fretboard tonewood, Wenge produces a tight, articulate sound with a healthy presence in the mid-low range. This is particular useful for bass guitars since the mid-low frequencies are typically the ones occupied by the bass in a band situation.

Atlas 5pc Wenge/Walnut Neck

The Atlas 5pc Wenge/Walnut neck provides tonal clarity and superior note attack, and its slim grip profile ensures incredible playability up and down the neck.

MR5S Bridge

Ibanez's MR5S bridge has adjustable saddles for variable string spacing by +/- 1.5mm. This is a really useful feature as it allows players to set up the guitar to suit their playing style. Fingerstyle bassists may opt for a slightly wider string spacing than those who play with a pick for example.

Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band EQ w/EQ Bypass Switch & Mid Frequency Switch

The Custom Electronics 3-band EQ puts an array of EQ options at your fingertips with easy-to-use, no nonsense controls! The Boost and Cut for the Mid Control are each centered on slightly different frequencies, an innovation that delivers a preset range of the most favorable bass tones. With the added Bypass Switch and Mid Frequency Switch, the SR5000 really is capable of delivering any tone you might need.
