Features of the Nektar Impact GX61
No adapters, no power cables, the GX61 is USB-powered. As soon as your USB device has a Class Complient MIDI driver, you can work with this Impact. Of course, the common operating systems are supported: from Windows XP and from OS X 10.5. Linux is also supported, if a USB MIDI driver is installed. You can even use the GX61 in combination with an iPad, if you use the optionally available USB Camera Kit for this purpose. Both in the studio and in a mobile context, the Nektar Impact GX is a flexible and complete solution.
Bitwig 8-Track
You get Bitwig 8-Track for free, which makes the investment worthwhile. This is an entry-level DAW that allows you to produce immediately. All you need is a computer and the GX turns it into a complete music system. The 8-Track version of Bitwig is a somewhat stripped down version of Bitwig Studio, but nevertheless offers more than enough features to entertain starters. It is particularly those starters who will appreciate the streamlined interface of this DAW.
