Avantone's workhorse of visually unmistakable Cabernet and Nickle pickups have completed the 'C-Series'. The Ck-6 Classic uses a large (30mm) diaphragm and transformerless capacitor circuit for accurate, colorless sound reproduction. A cardioid polar pattern helps the CK-1 focus on the lens, producing a clean sound signature that resists bleeding. An independently switchable 80Hz high-pass filter can be engaged to further reduce low-frequency rumble.
The CK-6 Classic is a versatile mic: sensitive enough to be used on vocal tracks and acoustic instruments, and powerful enough to handle high-volume amplified instruments (like an electric guitar cabinet). A -10dB pad switch can be activated when miking very high SPL sources to avoid overloading the electronics.
The CK-6 Classic features solid lows, full mids, and smooth airy highs, all from premium professional-grade FET-style large-diaphragm condenser mics. Typical aftermarket modifications such as metallized polypropylene capacitors are built right into the Avantone "stock" design. Avantone's CK-6 Classic proves that a high price tag isn't a necessary trait of a great LDC studio mic.
The Avantone CK-6 "Plus" package features a slightly larger 32 millimeter diaphragm, which adds bass to an already pleasing bass response. The CK-6+ is also accessorized with a protective foam-covered steel case, which fits into a wooden storage/carry box with the retro shock mount.
