A JB thought in the tradition of bass "jazz"
The JB300 is part of the legacy of offset bass design popularized since the 1950s. Eko takes this iconic recipe (double notch, two single pickups and vintage pickguard) to offer an accessible electric bass, ergonomic and focused on the essentials: easy grip, a classic look and great sonic versatility to start serenely.
For whom, and in which styles?
The Eko JB300 is aimed primarily at beginner bass players who are looking for a reliable, easy to adjust and pleasant to play first bass. Its two simple J-type configuration is at ease in rock, pop, funk, blues and jazz: you can get a round and deep sound (neck pickup), more precise and articulated (bridge pickup), or a balance of both for an all-purpose sound in a group.
The tone
The duo of poplar body and maple neck gives a balanced sound base, with a clear attack and dynamic response. The laurel fingerboard helps round off the top of the spectrum slightly, which helps to keep the sound musical and less aggressive depending on your tone setting. The two simple J-type microphones (passive electronics) are renowned for their slam, their presence of mediums and their ability to switch from a warm register to more percussive sounds. The 2-volume controls allow precise mixing of the microphones, while the tone is used to calm or enhance the brilliance. The Eko bridge with 4 adjustable bridges facilitates the adjustment of action and intonation, contributing to a clean sustain and a regular accuracy throughout the neck.
